We downed this guy in 54 pulls for US 55. It's really just smashing your head until you perfect the first phase and intermission. This fight was definitely a coordination and execution check. We weren't sure if we'd get it tonight, but we pulled it off on the last pull of the night. We've not raided progression outside our 9 hours this tier. Incredibly proud yet again of the team and how much we've come together since the beginning of the expansion!
Our only open position is an exceptional ranged DPS. Come join us and raid less without sacrificing progression!
Our team, in general, tends to excel in fights like this where you need to actively soak a mechanic or move out with a debuff. As a result this was an easier boss for us due to the fact it plays to our strengths. Our biggest flaw in our kill was not realizing that the symbols assigned by BigWigs to debuffed targets changes as you move through the phase, causing us to do much more unnecessary movement in our early progression. Once we figured out what was going on with the UI it was an easy kill for us.
By virtue of the fact we are a six hour team, our time spent re-clearing heroic was really siphoning out a good chunk of our raid time. Now that we feel that the cost/benefit of clearing heroic is too low, we are spending all of our time in mythic progression, which has been a big boost to our progression time.
Subsequent bosses have been easier for us, but this boss in particular seems to really punish bad RNG and classes without immunities. Running Roiling Deceit away from the team during Surging Darkness, depending on the timing between when those two abilities can hit the raid make dropping off roiling somewhat more treacherous and unpredictable than we were anticipating. Outside of that, this is a really fun boss with a small dps check for beating the third wave of adds that we really enjoyed. I know the dps had fun blowing up the large soldier packs.
True story: We were so excited by the kill on our first pull of the night and ready to rush off to the next boss (Efficiency™) we ran off to do Vectis without taking a screen shot, and what you see here is from the next week's kill.
We killed this in 30 pulls for US 60. Amazing job by the team. It's unfortunate this fight is so rogue dependent, but we're looking forward to a nice change of pace with Mythrax. Super happy with our pace this tier. We'll be pushing hard to finish out before Blizzcon!
We are recruiting ranged DPS and a healer! These are core positions, not for comp purposes. Come join our awesome crew!
This mutant dog took us 75 pulls, well below par. We had a 0% wipe last Wednesday in sub 50 pulls, but had to wait until Monday to finish it off. Zul will be a fast follow this week! The team has been progressing faster and faster as we hit the harder bosses at the end of the raid. We're beginning to really hit our stride, and we cannot wait to tackle Mythrax and G'huun to finish off this raid! We've stuck to our strict 9-hour raid schedule. Don't be fooled by guilds that raid more and have less progress.
We are recruiting a Mage/Boomkin, Warlock, and Holy Paladin to round out our roster. These are core positions. Come join our chill team and progress in less time!
This boss took us a total of 25 pulls. Very efficient kill and now we're onto Fetid, the first real gear check in the instance. As some of the other guilds drop down their raid nights we continue to keep it consistent with just 3 nights (9 hours). Don't be fooled into thinking an extra night is worth it, progress the same in less time! Really proud of the team on Vectis and things are shaping up nicely as we head into the latter half of the raid.
We're recruiting a Holy Paladin, Rogue, and Mage/Warlock!
