We broke out of jail in 205 pulls for US 24 / World 114. This fight was the first in quite some time that really tested mental discipline. It’s one of those fights that combines unpleasant mechanics (los, holes) with demanding execution requirements. Couple that with an existential time crunch for the Hall of Fame (our soft goal) and you get a boss that really put our team to the test.

We don’t focus too much on rank, but this was our best rank (and performance) as a team ever. This tier was long and grueling, and arguably one of the most difficult in the history of the game. However that is also when we perform the best. It required even more complex WeakAuras and preparation than we’ve had to do in the past. Speaking of rank and preparation: it’s worth talking about how that aligns with the Hall of Fame. We downed this boss in 91 pulls and then @Noodles immediately had a smoke break. Gotta say Star Boy was a pretty fun fight. The hardest part being micro-management of the quasars and subsequently coordination of the soaks. Been a while since there was such a binary mechanics check, but this fight was right on the edge of reasonable, so kudos to Blizzard there. This fight really tested healing (shoutout to our badass healers) and pushed the team to optimize self-sufficiency to the max. Overall a great penultimate boss to what has been the most challenging tier perhaps ever. Really looking forward to Jailer!

We downed this in 17 pulls, half of which we spent figuring out we could move after baiting puddles. This is objectively the worst fight in the instance. It's boring. It's annoying. It's overly simple. The change to increase all damage by 100% (instead of AOE spells only) completely trivialized the fight. The only thing it had going for it was the super tight damage check pre-nerf. Now it's just an annoying loot piñata that forces us to sit all our ranged. Onto better bosses...

We owned this kid in 130 pulls. I'd make a joke about milk like we did on the kill but it's already weird enough so we'll leave it. This fight was interesting. It's one of those fights where you can optimize several things prior to the final phase to make the final phase easy, and that's exactly what we did getting him to 14% for P3. There were some hard coordination checks with the souls (which will be a pain in the ass for farm) but otherwise was a very enjoyable fight that felt great to incrementally optimize into a kill.
